The ball joints are easy to tighten and allow you to move the arm at any angle, at 2 different joints. I was able to mount a phone or small mirrorless camera but it's made for microphones or cameras, or anything that threads onto a 1/4 or 3/8 thread mount. Both threaded adapters are included and screw on to the end of the boom arm.
