Oh say can you USB C?

Ah, USB-C. The promised land of charging, where we were told all our devices would unite under one glorious, reversible banner. A world where we'd no longer fumble with connectors in the dark, performing the "USB dance" of flip, flip, flip, finally getting it right on the third try. Did we achieve this utopia? Well... mostly.

Let's start with the plugs. They're sleek, they're modern, and they whisper sweet nothings of "fast charging" into our devices. They also come in a bewildering variety of wattages, from a gentle trickle to a firehose of power that could probably launch a small rocket. Choosing the right one is like navigating a minefield; pick wrong, and your phone might charge at the speed of dial-up, or worse, decide it's had enough and stage a protest by refusing to charge at all.

And the cables! Oh, the cables. They're supposed to be universal, yet they possess a secret language of compatibility. Some can handle data, some can handle power, and some can do both like these, but only if the stars align and your devices are feeling cooperative. But despite the occasional frustrations, we must admit USB-C has brought some good into our lives. Charging speeds are indeed faster when everything works in harmony. The reversibility, while not always a guaranteed one-plug success, is still a welcome improvement.
